What is Gunman Contracts - Stand Alone?
A single-player action shooter from solo developer ANB_Seth, published by 2080 Games, that you can play in VR or on a flat screen. It entered Steam Early Access on September 10, 2026 at $24.99 with three story contracts, a home base called The Hive and two challenge modes.
Is Gunman Contracts the Half-Life: Alyx mod?
It grew out of it. ANB_Seth's free Half-Life: Alyx mods, Chapter 1: The Extraction and Chapter 2: Art of War, are still on the Steam Workshop. Stand Alone is a separate paid game rebuilt from scratch in Unity, and you do not need Half-Life: Alyx to play it.
Is Gunman Contracts on Quest 3?
Not as a standalone Quest app. It is a PC VR game on Steam, so Quest 3, 3S and 2 owners play it from a Windows PC over Link, Air Link, Virtual Desktop or Steam Link.
Is Gunman Contracts free?
The two Half-Life: Alyx mods are free Workshop downloads, but they need Half-Life: Alyx. Gunman Contracts - Stand Alone costs $24.99 on Steam, and the developer says the price will rise as new contracts are added.
Is it Stand Alone, Standalone or Gunman Contract?
The Steam title is Gunman Contracts - Stand Alone, written as two words. Standalone and Gunman Contract are common spellings for the same game. It is also not Hit Contracts VR, a different shooter on the Meta Store.
Is Gunman Contracts coming to PSVR2 or PS5?
No PlayStation version has been announced as of September 11, 2026. The game is on Steam for Windows only.
Can you play Gunman Contracts without VR?
Yes. Non-VR mode is a full first-person shooter with keyboard and mouse or a controller, with the same contracts, Hive and challenge modes. Leaderboards are split between VR and Non-VR players.
Does Gunman Contracts work on Steam Deck?
Yes. It is Steam Deck Verified and runs in Non-VR mode.
How many contracts are in Gunman Contracts?
Three story contracts in Early Access: Outpost, War-House and Dinner Out. The developer plans at least three more as free updates before 1.0.
How long is Gunman Contracts?
UploadVR puts the Early Access campaign at six to seven hours, and about ten with replays and challenge modes. Reviewers report 20 to 45 minutes per contract on a first run.
Does Gunman Contracts have multiplayer or co-op?
No. It is single-player only. Steam leaderboards are the only competitive part.
Is there a Gunman Contracts demo?
No. Steam lists no demo for Stand Alone. The closest free taste is the original Half-Life: Alyx mods, which need Half-Life: Alyx.
What engine is Gunman Contracts made in?
Unity. The mods were built with Half-Life: Alyx's Source 2 tools; for Stand Alone the developer rebuilt the game from scratch in Unity, and the install folder uses Unity's GunmanContracts_Data layout.
What is the Gunman Contracts age rating?
Steam shows 18 in Germany and Indonesia and 16 in Brazil, for extreme violence, drug references and strong language. An optional low-violence mode removes nearly all blood and splatter but keeps the action.
Can you heal in Gunman Contracts?
Not with an item, according to players: health comes back slowly on its own, and some mission stages top you up. The injector you can pick up is a nod to the Half-Life: Alyx mods.
Does Gunman Contracts support bHaptics?
Not at launch. Players have asked for it on the Steam discussions board.
Where is the Gunman Contracts Discord?
The official invite is the support link on the Steam store page, discord.gg/FCeD9yHtKv. The developer posts progress and takes feedback there.
Is there a Gunman Contracts subreddit?
There is a small r/GunmanContracts community, but most discussion happens in r/virtualreality threads, the Steam discussions board and the Discord.
Will the Gunman Contracts price go up?
Yes. The Early Access section of the store page says the price starts lower and increases as more contracts and content are added up to 1.0.
